DANGEROUS LIAISONS
Failing Up
There’s a long list of nominees for Most Dangerous Person in Florida these days. There’s Cory Mills, Randy Fine, Anna Paulina Luna, Matt Gaetz (remember him?), Ron DeSantis . . . . But the award this year goes to Florida’s unelected Attorney General, James Uthmeier.
The Florida Attorney General’s job is to uphold the laws of Florida, defend lawsuits against the state and state officials, and to represent the State in criminal appeals, to run the Office of Statewide Prosecutor and to serve as legal advisor to Florida agency heads. While the Attorney general is technically a member of The Florida Cabinet, it is not really a policy making position.
Uthmeier, however, has taken it upon himself to enter the “anti-woke” miasma of the DeSantis Administration—let’s not forget DeSantis appointed him after he made Ashley Moody (a once upon a time Democrat) one of our Senators. Uthmeier had managed DeSantis’ abysmal residential run. As my friend and brilliant Florida writer Craig Pittman said about Uthmeier, “he failed up!”
So now Uthmeier is running off teen-aged competitive Irish dancers, threatening judges whose rulings he dislikes with impeachment and, most incredibly, filing a waiver in a United States Supreme Court case attacking the constitutional validity of Florida’s law prohibiting convicted felons from possessing firearms. In general, he wastes State money and resources (somebody call DOGE!) while making lascivious headlines for himself. Let’s flunk him out in the next election.

I would be hard pressed to find a more egregious jackass in Florida government than AG Jimbo whose multiple personalities include Jimmy Swaggart: AG "counseled" a rich young woman looking to avoid the consequences of repeated traffic offenses, ultimately declaring her now "OK" to drive. (The fifty percent of DOC inmates who are in for non-violent offenses want AG to please minister to them, too.)
Or, how about AG fantasizing about Dr. Fauci: "I promise you, I lay awake at night in bed thinking, ‘How can I prosecute Anthony Fauci for the crimes he committed on the American people?’ And when I have a case ready, we will bring it.” (Florida politico 6/29/26)
But, bottom line, where would AG be without Dee elevating him?
Amen, Teri!!! Well done!!!
